Chapter 1: Alice in wonderland
I remember that night like it was yesterday. I came back from a long trip in India, 23 years old, bored and confused, thinking what for heaven's sake am I going to do with the rest of my life? I was wandering in my parents' apartment, 9 PM, looking for some entertainment. Suddenly I noticed a book on my young brother's bookshelf - its name was "Build web sites with HTML 4.0". Let's give it a try, I thought to myself, as I sat near my computer starting to read. Suddenly, real quick, it became 6 AM, sun rays came through the window, on my computer screen there were fresh home-made web pages and I felt like Alice in wonderland. In the following months I haven't slept much at night, I bought many books, and I knew for sure that I'm in the right place.

Chapter 2: The software land
The passion for learning became a true love and then I married into the software world. I worked as a developer for two Israeli Hi-Tech companies and soon became an independent software developer. In the very beginning I've engaged in small projects, mostly web applications, exposed to the bits and bytes of the software world. I observed organizations, users, marketing operators, I've learnt and seen how frequent software projects fail , I've completed an academic degree in Computer sciences but most importantly realized that designing robust enterprise applications (i.e. software for large and complex organizations)I is where I want to be. I understood that a well-designed software can really make a business better.

Chapter 3: Me, today
After years of development, I stumbled on opportunities to add consulting services to my portfolio, hold training presentations in Hi-Tech companies, manage a team of developers and even represent my customer overseas. Currently, I serve big Hi-Tech companies and financial institutes. I'm usually hired to develop, present or consult regarding enterprise and web development using Microsoft technologies. Simply put, I really enjoy the idea of building new things, that people find value in using. Frederick Brooks, a famous software novelist, wrote in his book (The Mythical Man Month): "Why is programming fun? …First is the sheer joy of making things. As the child delights in his mud pie, so the adult enjoys building things, especially things of his own design. I think this delight must be an image of God's delight in making things, a delight shown in the distinctness and newness of each leaf and each snowflake."
I like to believe my customers think I'm serious, skilful, and resourceful. One thing I know for sure: every day my joy of building things, this joy of the craft, increases rather than diminishes.
I'm 32 years old, live in Haifa, Israel, and I enjoy playing Tennis, cooking Asian food, watching movies and grabbing a beer (or two) with friends.
